Located in the Greater Heights, this community is one of the oldest and most historic in Houston. It is also considered one of the closest residential neighborhoods to Downtown and is adored for its charming quirks.

Stude Park offers a pool, swings, a playground, a community center, bike rentals, and a beloved bike path. The southern perimeter of the community is almost entirely composed of green spaces, including White Oak Bayou Greenway Trail.
Commute: The area has some public transportation options, but residents and visitors should be sure to check transit schedules before traveling. The eastern side of the neighborhood is bordered by Interstate 45, making it easy to access the highway and connect with Interstate 10 to the south.

History: Platted in 1907 by William A. Wilson just 15 years after the design of Houston Heights, this neighborhood reflects the changing trends in architecture with its many bungalow homes. In 2011, Houston’s City Council voted to approve designating a portion of the community’s land a historic district.
Shopping: Although this community is considered residential, it’s close to plenty of great shopping. Nestled between Downtown and historic 19th Street in the heart of the Heights, residents are never too far from what they need.
Community: The neighborhood is known for its towering, mature trees and flower and vegetable gardens. If you stroll through the neighborhood, you’ll notice a variety of architectural styles including bungalow, Queen Anne, American Craftsman, English Cottage, and Victorian cottages.
Culture: Woodland Heights has a very tight-knit community culture that continues to evolve. The area is also known for its annual Lights in the Heights celebration and competition, which takes place during December. Although this community is more residential than other parts of the Heights, the Greater Heights overall boasts 225+ restaurants, bars, and coffee shops for residents and visitors to enjoy.
