History: When William C. Hogg developed this area in 1920, he envisioned a residential community with plenty of room to stretch your legs. The pastureland the neighborhood was built on was originally owned by Henry Stude, whose name may look familiar because of Studewood Street. Norhill is divided into sections, with the development of the North preceding the development of the East. The neighborhood was given its name due to its geographic location to the north and its higher elevation.

Shopping: Although there isn’t much shopping directly within the neighborhood, the heart of the Heights is just a short walk away. The neighborhood is also less than ten minutes from Downtown, making it a fantastic place to live for those who want to live in a more residential area without sacrificing shopping and entertainment.

Community: Bungalows originally built in this community were typically produced from commercially available plans, like those sold by Sears Roebuck & Co. They often provided large porches, giving residents a place to relax outdoors. Today, you can see bungalows of many styles in the neighborhood, including Colonial, Spanish, Hipped, English, and Craftsman.

Culture: Residents of this area have easy access to the many events hosted in the Heights. North of Woodland Heights, this community also usually participates in Lights in the Heights. It’s always a treat to walk down Norhill Boulevard in the early wintertime!
