Best Thanksgiving Pies in Houston

Houston and the surrounding areas have some of the tastiest, most diverse food in the country. Luckily, desserts are no exception. Here are some of my favorite places to go for a great slice of one of the best Thanksgiving pies in Houston!

  1. House of Pies
House of Pies has been Houston’s premier pie bakery for over 50 years. With over 30 kinds of pie offered, including a variety of seasonal and specialty pies, there’s something for everyone to love here. House of Pies also offers a huge selection of other sweets like cakes, muffins, ice cream, and brownies. While they don’t take small call-ahead orders the week of Thanksgiving and Christmas, they are open 24 hours a day, including on holidays, to guarantee that your favorite pie is available for pick-up.

  1. The Flying Saucer
All that the Flying Saucer does is make pies – they’re experts, and that’s why their pies are so tasty! For over 50 years the Flying Saucer has pleased Houston with its variety of fresh fruit and cream pies. They’re not shy about the good stuff, either – their crusts are flaky and fillings dense, and customers who purchase cream pies won’t be disappointed by the huge dollops of cream topping.

  1. Proud Pie
Proud Pie is a fresh pie bakery in Katy that takes pride in only selling the freshest of pies. They don’t use additives or preservatives and aim to sell every pie within two days of baking. This is also a great place to grab a cup of coffee and a quick slice of pie – or even lunch if your sweet tooth hasn’t been activated yet.

  1. The Chocolate Bar
Amidst rows of cakes, ice creams, and delectable chocolates, the Chocolate Bar offers rich pies, such as their Bayou Mud Pie. In this local favorite, brownie-studded filling rests atop a cocoa crust, all topped with white chocolate and drizzled with chocolate sauce. Pie like this is sure to satisfy any chocolate craving.

Bonus: Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen
Little says “Thanksgiving” more than the delicious sweet potato pecan pie served at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen. Served up with creamy vanilla ice cream, this pie is simply one of the best ways to end a meal this holiday season.
